چکیده
This research aims to establish the effects of length activated carbon-based medium on exhaust gas emission and evaluate engine's corresponding performance. The method utilizes peat soil as source carbon. is dried then passed through a 30-mesh sieve. It further heated 400°C for an hour, soaked in 25-percent H2SO4 solution, maintained at 120°C oven. resulting carbon packed into absorbent tube with diameter 30 mm varying 60 mm, 70 80 mm. appended leaving end Honda Supra 125 X's muffler. result suggests that lowest achieved when 2000 rpm engine speed, i.e., CO level 2.57 percent HC 228 ppm. On other hand, highest given by 1437 In conclusion, it shows affects ability reducing emission, but does not significantly affect

Residential carbon monoxide poisoning from motor vehicles.
CONTEXT Although morbidity and mortality from accidental carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning are high in the United States, identification of common but poorly recognized sources should help prevention efforts. OBJECTIVE The study aimed to describe CO poisoning of home occupants due to a vehicle left running in an attached garage. DESIGN News stories reporting incidents of US CO poisoning were c...
متن کاملPreparation of Activated Carbon from Peat
Peat with an approximate 60% carbon content collected in the suburbs of Palangka Raya, Indonesia, was carbonized, followed by activation with steam in an electric furnace. The resultant activated carbon (AC) had ca. 900 m/g of BET surface area and 1000 mg/g of iodine adsorption. This performance implies that this AC can be used as an adsorbent for environmental purification. We had a carbonizin...
متن کاملCarbon Emissions from Smouldering Peat in Shallow and Strong Fronts
A series of experiments of shallow and strong smouldering fronts in boreal peat have been conducted under laboratory conditions to study the CO and CO2 emissions. Peat samples of 100 mm by 100 mm in cross section and 50 mm in depth were smouldered in the cone calorimeter apparatus. Two laboratory variables, moisture content and the external heat flux are varied over a wide range of values to es...
متن کاملAn assessment on dispersion of carbon monoxide from acement factory
Background: Modeling the dispersion of pollutants from factory stacks addresses the problem of matching emissions of a cement plant with the capacity of the environment to avoid affecting the environment and society. The main objective of this study was to simulate the dispersion of carbon monoxide (CO) from the main stack of a cement plant in Doroud, Iran using SCREEN3 software developed by th...
